Also, if you're new to my journal, you may notice that much of my fanfiction is posted as Friends Only. Comment here and I'll probably friend you, (although it may take awhile--just be patient. I am so lazy), so you can have access to those protected entries.

So, I just finished Gone with the Wind the other day. It was interesting to say the least. I understand completely why it's made classic status.
(Be warned, though. This is unedited, and 90% stream of consciousness).
I've created two sister sites, to help divvy up my life into even more compartments.
http://mncarlisle.livejournal.com will have all my original works on it, including comics and art and stories. It's mostly an update and teaser journal, so people can see where I'm at with my projects.
http://sistervictory.livejournal.com is my magical diary. It'll be tiled to O.T.O degree, so there may not be a lot of stuff most people can view on there. But if you're still interested, it's there. I'll probably post essays and research there, too, along with my mundane counting of activities that will HOPEFULLY make me a better person.
As for this journal, I'll mostly keep it for my fanfics and regular update stuff.
Happy October, everybody!
T.A.
:)
Not the best day today.
Woke up with a near debilitating attack of "How the HELL Am I Going to Pay All My Bills?", which lead to much unpleasantness throughout the day. And to make things even better, it turns out that my cat ate at least 4 feet of crochet yarn in the middle of the night. At least, that's what I pulled out of her through her mouth, inch by inch. Poor, gagging kitty. She seemed okay when I left for work today--we'll see if she can pass whatever I didn't get out of her system, or if I'm going to have to take her to the vet.
Stupid, stupid kitty.
And now I have less yarn. Ugh.
Anyway, I am feeling a bit more perky (still not my usual happy-go-lucky self, but I'm improving). Cathy gave me a whole list of temp agencies I can call. I'll call right after work, and see if they can set me up. Oh, and I need to call my landlord to tell him I'm moving out by October 1... A whole month in advance should be good enough, right?
Oh, and the place I'm moving into? I may have to sell my old bed and buy a new one. Or sleep on the mattress or something. 'Cuz my four poster bed frame is totally not fitting in that teeny tiny room.
Oh well. I wanted to upgrade to a queen-sized bed after this one anyway. When I can finally afford
Pbbt. Yeah.
Still not good, but getting better. :(
So, I logged in this morning. Guess how many unread messages I had? 497.
Damn, three more and I would have had a number I haven't seen before. (Granted, I haven't seen 497 before, either, so... yay?)
Anyway, I'm back. Or at least I hope to be.
Got of stuff done today. Finally got ride of all that garage sale trash. Cleaned out my lj inbox (that took forever). Went to work. Went to the store and got milk, among other things. Did editing work.
Meh. I'm going to go eat dinner and think of some "Let's Get Victoria Out of the Hole of Debt She Dug For Herself" schemes. (I totally realize that I would help if I find an actual job, but I've been averaging about 3 to 5 applications to places a week and still no luck. Even the places that are supposedly hiring). I'm thinking of some comic books. Risque comic books. $1 per download maybe? Works for me. Now I need to find 170 people to buy them. ;D
Will update later when I have more meaningful things to say. (Let's see how long this takes!) :)
Adolescents, are notoriously easily bored, perpetually on a quest for the different. They are naturally curious about spiritual matters, and are likely to rebel against the conventions of their upbringing. The occult, and especially its false promise of powers to change both themselves and the world, is a compelling lure, and there are "many points of entry" of Satan:
1- "A Friend", is the main "point of entry" of Satan: Many teenagers become "rebels" against their parents and the establishment, but "slaves" to their friends:
If the friend uses pants with a hole in the back, he is got to use it!... if he is on the occult, he is got to try it, and be even more daring!...
2- "Fantasy Games", are also good points of entry: of Satan Ouija, Tarot Cards, Dungeons and Dragons (D and D)... This one, the respectable D and D, is very dangerous: You don't need boards, only a pencil, paper, and your imagination. Each player assumes the identity of a character of his choice, he becomes an "actor", and so familiar with the character, that he may end up becoming one with him... most characters worship a deity, and some of them can cast spells and do magic...
Don't get into these apparent respectable games. They may look harmless fun... but many have end up in sexual abuse, insanity, suicide, murder... and they are an easy point of entry into the dabbling Occult and Satanism...
3- "Heavy Metal Music", is another good route into the Occult and Satanism, and into death and suicide: Among the songs that blatantly proselytize Satanic rituals and the Occult, are:
- "Show no Mercy", by Kerr King, who shuts out, "in Lord Satan we trust".
- "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", by Black Sabbath.
- "Shout at the Devil", by Motley Crue.
- "Holy Hell" by Possessed, with references to defiled crosses, black masses, magic, and ends up with "kill the people, cut the heads, cut the throats".
- Ozzy Osbourne, in "Suicide Solution".
- "Kill 'Em All", by Metallica.
- The groups Judas Priest, KISS, Iron Maden...
4- "Adults", also actively recruit youngsters into the Occult and Satanism, with the lure of free drugs, drink and promiscuous sex...
D & D is bad for you, mmkay? HA! And I particularly like the reference to Iron "Maden." Iron MAIDEN is okay, apparently; but this Iron Maden has to go!
Thought this would make for a good laugh. ;)

NOTOCON VII: the seventh biennial National Ordo Templi Orientis Conference
August 7-9th, 2009 EV ~ Seattle, WA
I'm going to Notocon! I just paid for registration! Yahoo!
Here's to hoping I sell something!
Edit: Make that $116 worth of inventory. Two games had scooted under the couch. They're up now, though.
Let's see.... what movies have I seen lately?
-Red Dragon. Awesome. Gotta love cannibalism.
-The Illustrated Man. Old '60s sci-fi film based off of a Ray Bradbury story. Interesting, I suppose. Or maybe that was the alcohol talking. ((Still think it would make a better gay porn than it would a horror/sci-fi. XD ))
-Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Alright, I have to admit, I didn't see the first ten or so minutes of this film. But it was okay, for a romance flick. More of a break up comedy than a romantic comedy.
-Titan A.E. Yeah, I finally saw this film. *shrug* I liked it. Traditional science fiction hope-filled film, but good.
Oh, and I'm watching Alien right now. =D
It's an independent film about an independent screenwriter. His agent tells him his mushy, artsy love stories aren't making any money, and then tells him to write a horror film. The writer tries, and fails. So the Muse of Horror, a zombie named Victoria, enters his life to help him find his horrific inspiration. Much comedy and fun ensues.
At Hastings, it's listed under Horror (still a new release, though). The movie watches like a comedy, however, so don't let the horror tag scare you. The "scary" scenes are more gut busting than spine tingling.
It's amazing! Go! Watch it now!
Anyway, Thursday I saw Chemical Wedding. It was very interesting--although it did demonize Crowley quite a bit. Although, I have to say, the purple pimp suit was awesome.
Yesterday, I rented and watched The Gene Generation. THAT movie was awesome. Good enough to buy, in fact. It was more art flick than action film--it reminded me a lot of Galerians, actually.
I'm currently watching Incubus. It's... okay. It's all in Esperanto, which is mildly amusing. I used to know a bit of it, but I've since gone lax in my studies. Oh, and it stars William Shatner. Awesome.
It's really hard to actually keep a list of movies I want to see, as there are so many of them.... but what do you guys think? Any recommendations? I really like action and monster flicks... and I do shy away from romance--just warning you.
... Jeez.
Speaking of homework, I have some things I need to do this weekend:
-WRITE MY MOTHER-EFFIN' PAPER! Ugh.
-Study for Latin Test
-Latin Extra Credit...
Today, I need to finish up my CYR work, then .... well, that may take all night. But I DO need to pop by Hastings tonight and return some DVDs. I finished the first season of True Blood last night (SQUEE!), and I totally want my $4 credit. Mmmm... Hastings. How I love thee...
Anyway, tomorrow morning I need to WAKE UP. Yeah. Totally. The last couple of Saturdays, I've slept in damn near 'til noon. Oops.
Yeah, Saturday I need to work on my paper--get a good chunk of it written, and I want to mess around on Photoshop. The comic
Then, at 1:00, I'm going over to Cathy's to suntan (err... gain a normal skin tone. I'm a pasty white freak), and talk about our TV show. I'm so excited--we have the first three episodes "abstracted" out. We just need a script, then a story board, and we're ready to rock and roll! I'll have to remember to bring my sketchbook.
After that, there's supposed to be a Solstice party at SI, but I'm not sure anyone is going to make it. Our event coordinator isn't very... coordinated. If there is a party, fine. I'll make fruit salad and probably get a rotisserie chicken. If not, I'll go home and do homework.
Sunday is homework day for the most part. I need to finish my paper, study Latin, and NOT DIE. Ugh. That may be harder than it seems to pull off. At 6 I've got Mass--so I probably won't want to do homework after that. Will probably work on the comic more if
Then, Monday it's back to classes. Paper due 9:15, Latin test 10:50. *sigh*
Looking forward to the comic and suntanning with Cathy, though. Yay!
( I think it should be... )

"Training for a top fighter takes time! ... Unless you're a natural-born kung fu genius." HA.
On a more serious note, I can't wait for Do Comeco ao Fim to come out. It looks fantastic. I cried when I watched the trailer... It supposed finished production this May, so I doubt it will be out until December or so. Plus it's Brazilian, so it'll have to imported....
Still. Can't wait for it. Looks awesome. =)
I had to kill one today. It was big, (about an inch and a half), and reddish brown. It was blocking my exit. All I could find to kill it were paper towels (and a dog. The dog didn't help much, but she did eat it at the end). It took twenty minutes of heart-thumping fear, but I did it! I had to hit it several times before it finally twitched its last twitch... which, then, the dog (as I said) promptly ate it.
Still alive. Didn't have my medicine on me, so it could have killed me. But I survived--still alive. It's dead and digesting. *sigh*
I hate wasps.
